Google Wave

Google wave is a new product from Google which is best thought of as a modern day version of E-mail. There is no doubt that E-mail has been one of the most revolutionary innovations of the 20th century. However, it has been around, in some form or another, for over 40 years; far longer than the Internet itself. When we consider that Google has only existed for 12 years and search engines have only been around for 15 years, E-mail seems ancient by comparison.

The Internet has changed dramatically in the past few years and if E-mail was invented today, it would likely be very different. This is the premise that the Google Wave team started with as they set out to create a modern-day answer to email.

In short, Google Wave is an excellent new communication tool that combines the best features from E-mail, instant messaging services and social networking sites.
